Fenyael is a charismatic Elven sorcerer who is currently member of the Golden Lanterns. Being clad in traveler’s clothing, people might mistake him for an ordinary adventurer on first sight. In Cauldron, nobody would probably notice him in a crowd if it was not for his alien nature. However, as his understanding of his inner powers increases, this will certainly change. Looking nothing special suits the young Elf just fine for the moment. After all, you have a good chance of taking your enemies by surprise if they underestimate your powers.
Having not spend too much time among humans, Fenyael sometimes wonders at their attitudes towards life. Society in Cauldron is so different from what he is used to and time and again, that makes him uneasy. Since people’s reactions still tend to surprise him, he feels that he is not really in control of his situation. However, Fenyael struggles hard to keep his feelings a secret. Although he likes to see them as his friends, the young Elf is sometimes alienated or even upset by the other members of the Golden Lanterns. At one instant they perfectly agree to his arguments only to act completely foolish afterwards.
Granted, dealing with Rhysalis, the paladin lady, has been easy because her actions turned out to be highly predictable so far. She does not seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer and more often than not, her heart and not her head guides her hand. Sometimes awkwardly, she does seem to fight for the right cause, though. Plus, she has shown a certain interest in his Elven nature. The small human sorcerer Zacharias has a strangely volatile mind. He is said to be very young for human reckoning, but Fenyael does not really know what that means. Are all young humans like this? And then there is this Cleric of Pelor, Aria, who is obviously guided towards some unknown goal by her deity. Fenyael wonders what that might be. Is she a trustworthy ally or will she raise her weapon against him without second thought if only Pelor commands her to? Aria, too, seems to be fascinated by his Elven blood and she has saved his life once or twice in the past. But then, he himself has saved her live more than once, too. This is the way the members of an adventuring group should behave, right? Finally, small Wim is a strange little guy. He possesses some astounding skills, but is a very silent fellow otherwise. Fenyael judges him to be a capable companion from whom he probably does not have to expect many surprises.
All in all, the Golden Lanterns seem to be an agreeable company for the moment. Time will tell how long they share a common goal.
