Liondrake's Roar

The Liondrake’s Roar (a reference to House Tharashk’s heraldry displaying the dragonne or liondrake) is the arm of House Tharashk that provides mercenaries and laborers to those with the coin to hire them. What makes the Liondrake’s Roar stand out is that House Tharashk recruits its mercenaries from Droaam – the land of ogres, trolls, gnolls, and other monstrous humanoids. House Tharashk has formed an exclusive agreement with the Daughters of Sora Kell – in exchange for a portion of the profits, House Tharashk has the rights to Droaam’s substantial supply of monstrous humanoids willing to work for pay. The headquarters for the Liondrake’s Roar is in Graywall, but the guild also has a substantial presence in Zarash’ak, providing important security and other services for Tharashk’s vital dragonshard trade.

Since the end of the Last War, as a result of the Liondrake’s Roar’s activities, ogres, gnolls, minotaurs, and trolls have become a much more common sight in the civilized nations of Khorvaire. Even gargoyles and the occasional harpy have joined the Liondrake’s Roar, and rumors persist that extremely deadly medusa assassins and bodyguards are available for those with the coin and right connections. This impressive mercenary and labor force has brought House Tharashk into direct competition with House Deneith and their Blademarks Guild. House Deneith had a de facto monopoly for years in the mercenary trade (opposed only by a few independent outfits), but now must deal with the young upstarts from Tharashk and their potent monstrous humanoid sellswords.
