MPGC - Man Portable Gauss Cannon
(Harm +4, Penetration +2, Range (2-4), Awkward reload, High Recoil, Devastating, Out of Ammo)
The evolution of the assault cannon, the MPGC (Man Portable Gauss Cannon) fires a 20mm, 500 gram armor piercing, fin stabilized, discarding sabot round with an initial muzzle velocity of 2000 meters per second. With a shortened barrel, the weapon quickly loses accuracy, with effective range of 700 meters and is primarily used in an urban theatre, for anti-armor/emplacement engagement.
LGSW - Light Gauss Support Weapon
(Harm +2, Penetration +2, Range (2-5), Automatic, High Recoil, High Capacity)
A heavier version of the gauss rifle, the LGSW fires a 6 mm, 5.3 gram needle bullet to velocities of 1500 meters per second with a practicle rate of fire of 1200 rounds per minute. Fireing operation is similar to that of a gauss rifle. Each pull of the trigger fires a 30 round burst. Ammunition cartridges carry 600 rounds.
The LGSW is provided with a bipod, and generally must be fired while prone with the bipod extended, although the weapon can also be fired from any convenient rest (bunker embrasure, log, etc.) Tripods may be purchased, use of which allows the weapon to fire at targets at extreme range and extends the weapon’s arc of fire. LGSWs can also be mounted in emplacements and to vehicles.
Accelerator Rifle
(Harm +1, Penetration +2, Range (2-5), Low Recoil, Autofire, High Capacity)
Designed specifically for zero-g combat, the accelerator rifle fires a 6mm, 5 gram bullet at an initial muzzle velocity of 100 to 150 meters per second, and upon leaving the barrel is accelerated by a secondary propelling charge to velocities of 700 to 800 meters per second. Using selective fire, it can fire at speeds of 700 rounds per min in automatic mode, bursts of three rounds per pull of the trigger, in burst mode or it may be adjusted to fire single rounds. A 100-round magazine is inserted in the bottom of the weapon in front of the trigger guard.
Snub Pistol
TRANQ - (Harm +2, Penetration +2, Range (1-3), Non-Lethal, Low Recoil, Out of Ammo, Modal)
HEAP - (Harm +1, Penetration +2, Range (1-3), Low Recoil, Out of Ammo, Modal)
The snub pistol is a low velocity pistol designed for use shipboard and in a zero-G environment. It fires 10mm, 7 gram bullets at velocities of 100 to 150 meters per second. Standard rounds include a tranquilizer round, and high explosive round, and a high explosive shaped charge round to defeat personal armor. The snub pistol is a standard shipboard security weapon generally loaded with extended magazines holding up to twenty rounds.
