Yep, every time I am thinking about adding stats something stops me as I think "system neutral" way. Maybe I should try to follow the same rule but also add hints/relative information on stats. Good suggestion and thanks for review!
Andrey Plisko
Alex Welk hey, just realized you had updated. Thanks for the review, this was my first real attempt at making a "production value"(?) dungeon, so I'm glad to get an honest appraisal of what was lacking and where I need to improve. This is the only real review I've seen (aside from friendly "wow, so cool!" which isn't very helpful) so I really appreciate it 😊. BTW, I'm Shane Starkey - Goblin Grotto.

The winners of the contest are now posted on the website as well as the blog, and the prizes have all been allotted. I will begin sharing this information with
creators and connecting them with sponsors during the coming week.

Thanks again to the sponsors, the judges and their families, and to everyone who participated or spread the word about the contest.

The Compendium will be available on OBS in about a week or so, with a Print on Demand version coming as soon as possible afterwards.

Dungeon Contest Hey man, not sure if you've heard this from anyone, but THANK YOU SO MUCH for the work you're putting in behind the veil to make this thing happen. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort you and your crew have put in, and for no other reason than the love of the craft. You've given amateurs like me an opportunity to have our work featured in an awesome compendium, and I just want to say thanks. I literally joined this thing just in the hopes of being featured alongside some of my favorite artists, and watching the community put it's best foot forward has been its own reward. Thank you, from all of us.

Legibility question: can you read this?

Legibility question: can you read this?
Printing question: the printout looks terrible, as if rasterized or something. Is the solution to not use handwriting and just find a good font and go with it?
Alex Schroeder
13 Comments
Yes, use a good font. It needs to be readable.
Simon Forster
illegible-ish
Claytonian JP
Thanks you both for the feedback. Writing the text in Libre Office, now.
Alex Schroeder
Good handwriting fonts are like gold...incredibly versatile, but hard to find.
Michael Wenman

Luka Rejec

Iacopo Maffi
Personally I think the writing is fine, but if the printout looks terrible then you might need to increase the dpi. Screen resolution sits at 72 to 100 dpi, while decent print output often needs 300+.
Michael Wenman
Michael Wenman This was drawn on an iPad Pro using Procreate, but I think some interaction with the print driver resulted non-black (red, grey) to be, I dunno how to describe it, dithered? I just finished my first draft in Libre Office and printed it, and again the red isn't simply non-black, it's distinctly terrible.

Beautiful! I love it. But I can't read it at all without squinting and focusing. Not friendly to use at the table. But lovely.
James V West
I can decipher it with effort, but that would rule it out for use.
Dave R
Somewhere, I have a font made out my own handwriting - in legible single letters, not my usual scrawl... I believe there was a webservice about that.
Christian “Rorschachhamster” Sturke
I can read it, but it takes too much effort to decipher.

What is some way I could sponsor the 1PD as an artist? Perhaps a b/w illustration of one of the winning entries?
Luka Rejec
18 Comments
I think that would be an awesome prize.
Michael Raston
That is a super cool idea, Luka Rejec .
Michael Prescott
I would be chuffed to bits to get that as a prize!
gregory blair
shall we do that, then? I can write up a prize blurb.
Luka Rejec
Luka Rejec That’s a great idea! You write it up and I will put it on the website/ blog: Facebook/ Twitter !
Dungeon Contest
Dungeon Contest I found Luka's idea so inspiring we've been chatting; we're talking about doing a joint prize. He'd do an illustration, and I'd do an isometric map (if the winner/chooser wants that—if they have a glorious map then that's obvs. not necessary).
Michael Prescott
I think this is a great idea. I am thinking that winners will be given a short preference list for prizes, with higher scoring entries getting first dibs. This would ensure that the person who receives this proposed prize would truly want it. I like to draw and I can make a decent map on a good day but I would feel honored to see a Luka Rejec or Michael Prescott variant of my stuff. I figure most of us would.
Dungeon Contest
We're currently debating if it should be the same winner / 1PD. Maybe it'd make sense to do it for a winning 1PD without art, to encourage creative textual 1PDs?
Luka Rejec
As you said in the other thread, Luka Rejec, I doubt any of this art could be inserted into the 1PDC entry retroactively, it would just be either a fun side piece, or something for the winner to use if they wanted to spin their entry out into 5-6 pages.
Michael Prescott
I'd like to do the illustration, but I'd also like it to be clear to the winner that this is optional. And if they say "no", then it can pass to the next highest ranked.

Or perhaps there is some category this would work with very well?
Luka Rejec
I have been thinking about this all evening. I think Michael is spot on with the idea that having an isometric map variant and an illustration inspired by a one page dungeon as a side piece is a great prize, but to Luka's point it will be helpful to know if a particular creator wants this or not. This can be sorted out no problem, and the prize will end up with one happy creator!

I think it's a great idea, and the fact that it comes from two One Page Dungeon Contest veterans such as yourselves, and is completely unique will make it quite the coveted prize in the end!

-Categories are added (for fun) at the end after judging is complete, and are not indicative of any methodology used by the judges.
Dungeon Contest
Dungeon Contest phew, ok - with categories added for fun, this makes it much easier to assign prizes in the end!
Luka Rejec
Is there anything more formal I should wait on before talking about this publicly?
Michael Prescott

Michael Prescott Luka Rejec you are good to go! Does this description below for use on the sponsors page work for you both?

"Luka Rejec and Michael Prescott to provide a black and white illustration and Isometric map honoring/ inspired by a winning One Page Dungeon!"
Dungeon Contest
Works for me! I'll wait for Luka Rejec to pull whatever trigger he's going to pull, since it was his idea, then I'll let 'er rip.
Michael Prescott
Fantastic! I will do the same regarding the description above before adding it to the website/blog/facebook/twitter.
Dungeon Contest
Yup! Sounds good to me! :) I would maybe rephrase it a bit more succintly:

"Luka Rejec and Michael Prescott will create a black and white illustration and an isometric map inspired by a winning One Page Dungeon!"
Luka Rejec

What are the rules on modern / future / non-fantasy "dungeons?" Cyberpunk, for instance, has dungeon crawls redressed as "corporate office raids" or the like.
Brian Johnston
1 Comments
There have been submissions that take place on submarines, abandoned air bases, hex crawls that cover non-fantasy genres, in warehouses in Chinatown, within the confines of a floating airship above a post apocalyptic wasteland, on star ships, in apartment complexes, you name it really.

I do't think I have ever seen a cyperpunk/ shadowrun inspired entry, although If I was able to enter the contest that is certainly what I would do, as I teased the idea in this promotional image in the past

Anyone know if the OPDC will happen for 2018? I'd like to help if I can! Coming up on ten years that this little thing's been going on.

It seems that Dungeon Contest hasn't been active since the last 1PDC. Maybe Alex Schroeder knows?
Michael Prescott
Ten years?? oh man...
Heron Prior
Heron Prior If memory serves me correct, you did very well in our first one in 2009...
Michael S (chgowiz)
Michael S I didn’t know about the OSR yet, so I was just hoping no one would catch on that I didn’t have a clue about the (then current) rules. The stat-free part was what got me to give it a shot.
Heron Prior
Michael Prescott I’ve handed it over to Random Wizard who handed it over to somebody else…
All the files I have access to are still available: https://campaignwiki.org/1pdc/
The old page is also still there: https://campaignwiki.org/wiki/DungeonMaps/One_Page_Dungeon_Contest
But I think somebody else would have to take it forward from here.
Alex Schroeder
I pinged Dungeon Contest via dungeoncontest.com, hopefully that reaches an active inbox.
Michael Prescott
Michael Prescott - thanks! I've done the same, but haven't gotten a reply.

As much as this fills me with some anxiety, if it comes down to it, I'll take up the reins again for 2018 and 2019. Getting it to it's decade anniversary is important to me!
Michael S (chgowiz)
Sorry for not replying earlier, dealing with snow and cutting a tree off my front porch/ out of my driveway, and a third off of my poor crushed mailbox. Sorry to cause any stress regarding the fate of the contest. Honestly I have not begun to focus on it yet, as last year I promoted it for nearly eight months when the reality was that most entries came in within the two weeks prior to the deadline. Plan is/ was to wait until the first week of April to start promoting it. I guess I need to start that sooner. I also keep Dungeon Contest and my other account separate and have been using that account primarily. As far as the ten year anniversary, I do think it is appropriate that the contest returns to the crew that started it all and I will reach out to you
( Michael S ) directly regarding making that happen, and if running it this year was something you feel passionate about we can make that happen, or any other level of involvement this year you would like is welcome. If not, worry not, as the 2018 contest will be happening. I will work on the website/ submit posts this weekend to make that clear.
Dungeon Contest
Yay!!! And good luck with the trees and the mailbox and the snow and all that!
Alex Schroeder
Dungeon Contest awesome! Got all your messages yesterday but I'm at GaryCon. Can you pls send me email to chgowiz@gmail.com and we'll put together phone call and pull in Chatty?
Michael S (chgowiz)
No worries. This Treant is down to the last of its miserable hit points. https://plus.google.com/photos/...

I have promoted a few members of the group to moderators and will promote some to owners after the mandatory two week waiting period. Please remind me should I forget. I definitely don’t want to let this group fall into limbo.

I pinged Dungeon Contest via dungeoncontest.com contact page, hopefully they're okay and have some idea for 2018.
Michael Prescott
Heh. I just sent them an email. Let’s hope we’re not stressing them out. Life happens.
Alex Schroeder
I hope they respond! And thanks Alex... guess we'll see how this is going to turn out. If not, I will have some bandwidth in June and will look to perhaps adopt the contest back for awhile.

Hey everyone! Just want to share my second article on RPG News Russia:
http://rpg-news.ru/2017/10/04/gostevaya-statya-celoe-priklyuchenie-na-odnoj-stranice-chast-2/

And first 3 top entries in Russian can be found here:
http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/218402/--
http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/220249/-----
http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/222249/---

I am moving to "The Color of Fungi", "The Mermaids' Knot" and "Rapta in Pace" now. I know this is quite slow, but as I am doing it by inspiration and only when I have some free time, it can take a while. )

If any author is interested in helping me to translate his dungeon, please contact me via anisplan@gmail.com It is often hard to work with final pdfs, so if you would be so kind to share image and text sources it would be much less work for me. Also this would help to produce translated pdf of much better quality without pasting Russian text over original English.

Thank you all in advance!

I received PDF's of Zodiac Empires Campaign Setting and Player's Guide in exchange for a review. Overall, the artwork and setting were powerful and useful. I enjoyed them quite a bit more than I expected to given my own preference for my personal home-brewed campaign world. I will definitely be stealing ideas from this high-fantasy world recovering from demonic invasion.

to the ruins, perhaps the abundance of would-be-heroes travelling to the region to plunder its riches and secrets? One secret, however, remained undiscovered
- The Crypt of the Witch King, until now…

Five of the entries have links, and four of them work. I'm either doing it wrong, or else Kenneth Moore's "Underworld Turf War" isn't available at the link provided. I can find his superb 2016 entry there, however.
Clark Timmins
Clark Timmins Creators can link to anything they choose (Facebook, g+, blog, etc.). It is not required or even expected for them to link to, or reveal their current entries. It is something of an anomaly that so many have chosen to share their entries before the contest ends.

Cool, let me know how the time shrine works out. You might want to fudge the offerings if you want it to be easier to get the time machine back.
I made it hard as a way to tempt the avid players who want to camp their characters out there for months to see what this button does.
Roger Giner-Sorolla
That's honestly the part that I am most interested in, is how to put just enough temptation and see what my players pick. It might be a while before I test it though, my game is on hiatus until I get through my wedding and then find more players to replace the ones that moved away.

Cool thanks for the feedback, I will see what i can think up, sort of background fluff sort of thing for both maps.

Yea, not much but something to riff off of. Especially with something as abstract as Sigmir's. A keep is a keep and I can work with that.

I'd love to buy four page maps or four pages of minis separate. A single page of each is way too little awesome. As is I'm going to try to figure out how to mash these two maps up for an adventure.

Thanks for the write up. I'm  looking forward to hopefully reading more 1pd2015 post mortems in the near future.

Something that really didn't sit well with me in the listing of judging criteria was the focus on the dungeon "having an ending". Funnelling a a group of players towards one definitive "ending" or resolution of a dungeon (or game session) is the opposite of the approach I take towards running games. This was probably reflected in my entry.

I purposefully set my dungeon up to be open ended, with a variety of possible goals implied rather than pointed out. Additionally there was a bunch of implied "resolutions" of sorts - a group of giants is plotting overthrowing the king, the pygmies were considering revolt, Giant seers were prophesying both - but I believe it's always more fun to let the players make their own story/goals/resolution. That way running the dungeon is always much more surprising and fun as a Gm. You don't know what will happen as nothing is predetermined!

That all said, it's great to see so much  diversity of presentation and focus in the entries (and the judges criterion) . Coupled with very robust amount of creativity and enthusiasm in the creation of dungeons, the competition is evidence of healthy gaming community. Congratulations to everybody that contributed!
Michael Raston
Michael Raston I don't think they meant railroad by that. I think what was meant is if something is mentioned at the beginning to set things up, that it should be relevant and be addressed in the rest of the write up.

As for my own reasons for supporting the One Page Dungeon Contest, back in 2009 I wrote the following: "Essentially I like a healthy mix of adventures I think of myself and professionally produced adventures. But when it comes to my own stuff, I’m never quite sure with what to compare it to. Should I aspire to write as the pros? I don’t think that would be time well spent. The One Page Dungeon Contest gives me the opportunity to compare my work with ordinary DMs from all over the world. I can learn from the successes and failures from others. That’s why I hope that the contest submissions will remain a crazy mix of things. I don’t want a contest dominated by Wolfgang Baur, Monte Cook, Eric Mona, Nicolas Logue and other people in their league. I want to compare my entry with authors in my league."

Every year the contest has beautiful submissions, beautiful maps, beautiful type, beautiful layout – these submissions are slowly moving into the "unreachable league" because of my unwillingness to spend so much time on an adventure, and because of my lack of talent to push it from good enough for me up to that level. Perhaps that's why I decided to submit my handwritten adventure prep notes this year. I actually ran it just like that. Looking back, that was probably not the most thought out move, but it felt like the right kind of statement to make: if I want more stuff "in my league" to compare myself to, then I would have to put my stuff out there. If I want more "average" submissions in order to see what other people are actually running, then I would have to submit an adventure I had written and actually run at my table.

Interesting comment in regard to the "unreachable league". It really does seem to me as if things are heading in that direction at least in terms of aesthetics.
Grand DM
Grand DM Well, nice maps have always been part of the contest. And only nice maps haven't usually won much. So I'm talking about "unreachable" as in "not worth the time" for me personally, of course. (Also, lack of talent.) I think my upper limit is the stuff I did for the one page dungeons To Rob A Witch.

Sounds like a reason to run a Plain Graphics Dungeon Contest. Where only maps and text are allowed and the maps should be done using Powerpoint shapes (or your web widget).
Roger Giner-Sorolla

I have mixed feelings about the issue to be honest. I love seeing beautiful art but also realize its impact on the contest. For example if we take the same entry and have two different people draw a map for it what would happen? Would the poorly represented version drawn by a non-artistic person get picked over a professionally drawn one? I seriously doubt it.
Grand DM
Or perhaps a better way to work within the existing contest would separate out pre-defined winner categories, so that "Best Graphic Presentation" would be only one of them (best dungeon layout, best single encounter, best unusual concept, etc.)

I like how every little capsule review starts with "One thing I love about this OPD". Setting a positive tone right from the get go!

Thanks Greg. This was one of three posters I made for the contest last year. I don't think this one "tested" well on reddit, so it didn't get used much.

And thanks Alex. Everyone works really hard on these OPD's, and I try to recognize that through the blog. I pick/ limit myself to "one thing" from each submission that I love about it. I started with 2014, and I have a lot more to write about, but I am really excited about getting to this year's entries as well.

Thanks. This post was again marked as spam, so adding a few sentences didn't help, unfortunately. The spam detection remains a mystery.

I don't think the posts are flagged as spam when I submit them to gaming on the cheap because I often get feedback from that community ( unless the owner is having to approve them like you have been. As much as I hate Claytonian's suggestion I probably will just combine posts and share them once week to save you some hassle. Thanks again for your time and support. I appreciate it.

Weird. Specially considering that some people can apparently cross post links to their blog posts to three or four communities without problems. As for your posts, feel free to experiment. I'll let you know if I see any changes. :)

I'm sorry if you have already seen these posts somewhere else, but I neglected to share a bunch of them in the most obvious and appropriate place (here!). The "Bonny Bard" has a great looking player handout that won't destroy the "dungeon" if you cut it out.

If you share too much in a short time frame, you're probably spamming is the logic behind the system. Incidentally, I would have preferred you made one post with lots of links rather than many posts. RIP my notifications box
Claytonian JP
Yikes, I could have used that info five "shares" ago. Aside from sharing out a bunch just now to see if they spam I usually only share one of these OPDC posts a day. That doesn't seem like a lot in a short time frame to me, but then again I am not a notifications box...I will inevitably fall behind and they won't be as frequent, and I won't share them to a bunch of different communities.

Yep, I got fooled by the "secret door" thing - the 5 would be more visible in the water area of the cave. I'd say using some of the white space for a key, thereby balancing the layout, and using letters to match up the shaft ends would help.

Does anyone have any advice for getting the best possible resolution for one's map on a PDF? Or do I just have a worthless scanner? The PDF of my one page dungeon doesn't have nearly the detail of the original drawing. (And yes, I ought to have inquired about this months ago.)
Gordon Cooper
3 Comments
Scan resolution can be set in the software used to scan, up to the physical limit of the hardware.  Maybe your settings are too low?
Allan MacKenzie-Graham
Also, does your scanner produce image files (TIFF, JPEG) or PDF directly? Perhaps the PDF conversion is the problem?
Alex Schroeder
I think I fixed the problem. I'll send a revised entry later tonight. Thanks, everyone!

Strong!
Claytonian JP
Lorenzo Santini, this is brilliant!  Good work! I will definitely be using it.  Thank you.
Two minor criticisms: 1)Uskz is listed as B5 - I assume barbarian 5, not bard 5, but not obvious and 2) Hareven is dead at the start of the adventure and does not need to be listed as D5, since this will not enter play.
Allan MacKenzie-Graham
that's beautiful.
Heron Prior
Allan MacKenzie-Graham , thank you for your comment and especially for your little criticisms. about 1), you're perfectly right, in my quest to save space I thought it was obvious given the context, but it might not be obvious for the readers or the judges, so I already updated my submission using extended class names instead of letters. There was some little space left for that, after all!  2) I know the druid's dead but I decided to leave the info for the DM, just in case. You never know, someone could find a way to have Hareven raised from death, although it's very unlikely since the adventure is for a low level party. Thank you again for your help!
Lorenzo Santini
Thank you for posting it, Lorenzo Santini.  It is a great adventure.  I love the cartography.
Allan MacKenzie-Graham
Media and tools?
Benjamin Wenham
Benjamin Wenham , the map is hand drawn: pencil, (a lot of) rubber, rulers, ink pens; then scanned and polished up with Gimp. I touched very little of the actual drawing, though, just some cleaning;  mostly added layers with key numbers, titles, scale bar... Put it all together on a Libre Office Writer doc. I Wish I had heard about Scribus earlier :)
Lorenzo Santini
Scribus is odd. I get that it is pretty powerful, but the learning curve is steep.
Benjamin Wenham
I see. Haven't tried to play with it yet, but 'm interested...

One thing that would be great for future compilations: a one-sentence capsule for each entry, (preferably from the author) to help DMs find ones relevant to their needs. The demands of the format make it hard to include that info in an easy to browse kind of way. Something like: "a halfling settlement overtaken by cannibal spirits," or "a classic goblin mine with a Mythos twist".

Do you feel like collaborating on a classic D&D dungeon? I am drawing a little dungeon, about six levels deep. Ideally we would then split it all up into six One Page Dungeons and each submit one level to the One Page Dungeon Contest at the end of April. Leave a comment if you're interested. I'm guessing I'd create a little Google+ Community for us to collaborate in?

I'm going to be using #Gridmapper for the map. It works best with Firefox but Chrome will also do. I'm still working on the map. Here's a snapshot: http://goo.gl/5eVixd (you can load the current state from the wiki by loading The Sewer Prison).

At the same time, I want to use this dungeon for my current campaign, soon!

The backstory is this: in my campaign, the party built a hospital in the coastal town of Kerealia, which got taken over by a chaos warrior called Nualia, wielding a magic sword called Man Eater and worshiping the demon of all crab-men, Garaskis. The hospital turned into a mad house, a prison, temple, a center of human sacrifice and crab man worship. Now we're going back with a new party of characters on levels 1 to 4, trying to rescue a friend or two and get rid of Nualia once and for all.

In terms of influences:
– Kerealia is a town by the Sea of Five Winds, of the Wilderlands of High Fantasy
– Nualia is a non-player character from Paizo's Burnt Offerings, their first book of the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path, lording it over some goblins
– Garaskis and the crab-men is from the upper levels of The Darkness Beneath in Fight On! magazine by David Bowman
– In terms of style, I'm aiming for something like Stonehell

Anyway, if you feel your strength is keying a dungeon, creating treasure hoards, creating tricks and traps for dungeons, editing, illustrations, or adding the gonzo crazy to mundane dungeons, I could use your help! My own strengths are (hopefully) the mapping, a ruthless focus on brevity, and coding stuff if we need tool support.

I'm planning for the actual dungeon key to be written on the wiki, too: https://campaignwiki.org/wiki/Gridmapper/Comments_on_The_Sewer_Prison
Once we're done editing and all that, we'll move it – hopefully! – to six single page PDF documents, ready for the contest.

The One Page Dungeon Contest 2015 approaches, I hope. I recently wrote a nice little map drawing utility called #Gridmapper. If you decide to use it, you might think that your map will necessarily look just like every other map designed using Gridmapper. I just tried the following, however: You can download Gridmapper and use it to draw a map in your browser, then edit it in Inkscape (ignoring some of the junk floating around which is used for the built-in demo), save it, and open it in your browser again and keep on using Gridmapper. You could say that the Gridmapper application and its data "survives" editing with Inkscape. That's pretty cool. :)

Thus, as far as the contest is concerned: You can always take a screenshot and edit the image using Gimp or Photoshop. But you can also edit it using Inkscape and keep on running Gridmapper when you're done.

The official solution is this: Visit https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3qeWI0FVNRrWHFsWVA0bDFLSXM&usp=drive_web
Click the blue Add to Drive button. It changes to an Open in Drive button. Click it again. Then click on the "1pdc-2014-entries-pdf" folder and see the little triangle. Click it and click on the Download… menu item.

Interesting concept but hard to convey on paper -- or perhaps you have two maps on the page, both sharing some rooms. The presentation would need some work. I also suspect that you would want to foreshadow the ability to move on the other color scheme, so players would have to map passages of both colors?
Alex Schroeder
I'd give the players a copy of the prison schematics, it's confusing enough for most people not to be able to follow it until they overlay the cellophane circle...and the cellophane circle only clarifies a small amount of the prison complex. Asking the players to map something like this would be really confusing and would basically lead to an impossibly difficult labyrinth which would kill them, and quite possibly leave them in a state where they literally could not get out...remember that this is an interdimensional prison which securely holds some of the most dangerous beings in existence.

Love the idea!

Gaaah. I'm still not sure what to do. I think I'm just going to prep an adventure for my ongoing campaign using Modrons and what not, and then try and squish it into a single page using Inkscape.

Am having the same problem. Simple? Complex? Unusual? Usual? Fantasy? SF? 2D? 3D? :)

Ever since doing the 1PDC, I've been bitten by the bug, so now I'm regularly releasing free one-page dungeons.  Here's the fourth so far.

It is official. I am going to organize and run the One Page Dungeon Contest for 2014. Followers on G+ may have noticed I have been putting together image galleries of the previous year submissions. All these galleries are now available at a new website dedicated to the contest. I have also duplicated the images over on flickr. The deadline for the contest is April 30th. We already have our first sponsor! Troll Lord Games!

Friends of the One Page Dungeon Contest, I am still looking for somebody to run the contest in 2014. Let me know if you're curious.

Woohoo, +Brett Bernstein has done it again. The One Page Dungeons in print. Thanks!

The CC Share Alike license makes it possible. This is great. Somewhere in the store you can also get the 2012 book, if you'd like that.

The yearly PDFs with all the entries remains freely available. I'm assuming you know what you're buying if you're ordering the book. :)

Having a minor win a prize poses a new challenge to me: what is "adult content"—taking into account the differences between Switzerland and the USA; and how do RPG products fit into this? I know that Lamentations of the Flame Princess is probably not suitable but what about the rest?

Ugh, worst case… slipped a row while sending out prize notifications and sent an email announcing a prize to the wrong person. That's what I get for fiddling with tables on paper, updating electronic spreadsheets, and going back and forth. I am mortified!

Anyway, the good news is, you should be getting at least one email from me today if you are one of the winners.

Luka Rejec
Alex Schroeder  how is the judging done?  Is it just you, or is there a group?  If there's a group, is there a way to petition to be a part of it?
Brennan OBrien
Brennan OBrien It's a group thing and people just apply for the position. The process is described at the end of the announcement. There are also some notes with my own thoughts on reading the entries on my website. Look for the 1PDC tag: http://alexschroeder.ch/wiki/1PDC

I'm trying to think of places to post the announcement. (I haven't written it, yet. But I want to know where to post it once I have...) In 2012 I had this huge list of forum links. Any suggestions?

You will reach a significant portion of the Swedish gaming/OSR scene through the rollspel.nu forum. 1PDC has been discussed there in the past, I think some of the residents might consider contributing.  (I'd be glad to forward the announcement there if needed.)
Wilhelm Person
Awesome!
Alex Schroeder
Make Jeff Rients, Zak Smith and James Raggi sponsor it, and you're probably pretty much done :)
Nicolò Maioli
I will link the contest annoucement among the NorthCoast Gamers websites (I believe total membership is around the 2k mark) if that helps.
John Hazen
Excellent. The end of March is approaching. I must write that announcement before Easter. :)

Any chance of a 2-page dungeon contest? That's more my speed.

I don't know. I sort of like the limitations of the one page format. If enough people want to try it, though, I'm open to changes.
Alex Schroeder
I think happy jacks did a two page contest. Stick with one page I say. Otherwise you'll need to change all your stationary and handkerchiefs.
Todd Mitchell
Happy Jacks seems to have done a 2 page RPG contest. Not the same at all. Even Gygax did two page dungeons!
Claytonian JP
It was a two page adventure instead of a one page adventure so a little bit different...
Todd Mitchell
In any case, an adventure is not a dungeon.
Claytonian JP
To be honest, we have been accepting one page adventures as well. Some even won prizes!
