Comments on House Rules

What about criticals? How does the chance of scoring a critical hit behave? If I roll only two instead of four dice, the chance of getting a 19/20 is halved.

Don’t forget the confirmation roll. Since that needs to hit, it makes a big difference whether you are making two attacks at close to your maximum BAB, or more attacks at -5 or more.

I forgot about that. It probably has been included in the considerations above.

So I’m ok with the rule.

To be honest, I’ve been using this rule in these last fights and nobody seemed to notice… :)

Yes I used the rule constantly since you brought it up with Wim. Much easier for me, though I still had 4 attacks per round because of two-weapon fighting.

I like these rules.

How do we treat hit point gain at level up? Do we roll? Can we choose average?

– Talib Ka’im 2010-03-22 12:34 UTC

If != Alex, roll for your HP. If you = Alex, then 1 HP.

– Adrian 2010-03-22 15:19 UTC

Ah, ok. I was just wondering how you determined your HPs for second level at home.

– Talib Ka’im 2010-03-22 15:27 UTC

Well, you’ll be happy to note that I found a d1 to roll my hitpoints…

– Alex 2010-03-22 15:37 UTC

@Talib, I just assumed low average (4 on a d8), but I will roll / ask James at the next game.

– Adrian 2010-03-22 15:41 UTC

A d1? That’s like, what… a sphere?
