Editing Shihab (2)

Mongol Archer Shihab is a neutral human male horse-back archer (fighter)

“I ride. I shoot.”

Yes, he is rude, he is hairy, and he shoots people. From a distance. In the back. And then he takes their stuff.

Init. +4; speed 30 ft. (50 ft. on horseback); Perception -2; Ride +11 (rank +2, class +3, Dex +4, saddle +2, armor penalty not included); hp 20; BAB +2 CMB +4 (+2 Str) CMD 19 (+4 Dex, +3 Str, +2 BAB) AC 19 (+4 Dex, +4 armor, +1 enhancement) Fort +5 (Con +2) Ref +5 (Dex +4, trait +1) Will -2 (Wis -2) +1 vs. fear; shortbow +6 (1d6 / x3); -2 if mount is double moving; Talib’s greatsword +5 (2d6+4 / 19-20); *+1 light mace from St. Vardishal crypt +6 (1d6+4); lance +5 (1d8+3 x3); double damage when charging; melée weapons get +1 when mounted vs. on foot.

Feats Mounted Combat (1st), Mounted Archery (human), Point Blank Shot (bonus); Precise Shot (bonus) Traits Anatomist (+1 to confirm crits), Deft Dodger (+1 Ref) Stats Str 16 Dex 18 Con 14 Int 7 Wis 7 Cha 11

Combat gear: shortbow, quiver with 20 arrows, lance, Talib’s greatsword, +1 light mace from St. Vardishal’s crypt, +1 chain shirt of a werewolf. Caltrops. 50ft of rope. Gnoll food rations (3).

Possessions: 3 gp. Extra quiver of 20 arrows, light horse (not combat trained), military saddle. Explorer’s outfit. His grandfather’s broken Katapassian Greatbow – a mwk +3 Str composite longbow requiring repairs worth 700gp. Two immovable rods. Holy symbol of the gnoll “foul beast” Lamashtu with funny legs. Small halfling tomb robber holy symbol of Nethis the god of cruel magic. Magic lamps taken from the ancient Nethis temple (15) in a big bag hanging over the saddle. Another such lamp in a belt pouch. Leather armor.

Mounted Combat

Senses low-light vision, scent; Perception +6; AC 11 (+2 Dex, –1 size) or my Ride check; Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +1; hp 15 (2d8+6); Jump +10 (2 Dex; 50ft speed)

No combat trained mount: If you don’t dismount, you must make a DC 20 Ride check each round as a move action to control such a mount. If you succeed, you can perform a standard action after the move action. If you fail, the move action becomes a full-round action, and you can’t do anything else until your next turn.

Movement: Your mount acts on your initiative count as you direct it. You move at its speed, but the mount uses its action to move. You can guide your mount with your knees so as to use both hands to attack or defend yourself. This is a free action.

Melee: When you attack a creature smaller than your mount that is on foot, you get the +1 bonus on melee attacks for being on higher ground. If your mount moves more than 5 feet, you can only make a single melee attack.

Ranged: You can use ranged weapons while your mount is taking a double move, but at a –2 penalty on the attack roll (feat). You can use ranged weapons while your mount is running (quadruple speed) at a –4 penalty. In either case, you make the attack roll when your mount has completed half its movement. You can make a full attack with a ranged weapon while your mount is moving. Likewise, you can take move actions normally.

If Your Mount Falls in Battle: If your mount falls, you have to succeed on a DC 15 Ride check to make a soft fall and take no damage. If the check fails, you take 1d6 points of damage.

If You Are Dropped: If you are knocked unconscious, you have a 75% chance to stay in the military saddle. Otherwise you fall and take 1d6 points of damage. Without you to guide it, your mount avoids combat.

Eventually something about a melee weapon. Ride-by attack? Want Trample! :) Or just add improved crit (longbow)… :D

Wishlist: buckler; mwk scimitar; a horse with combat training.

Backstory: Apprentice to the tribe shaman. Feeding the deceased to the vultures and the shaman’s secret necromantic teachings taught Shihab the art of killing. His father’s harsh training and the free for all punchfests taught him to be a deft dodger.

He lusts for the daughter of his tribe’s emir, Noura the beautiful with eyes as black as the night. When he attempted to steal his grandfather mighty composite longbow he was caught by his dad and kicked out of his tribe in shame. So much for marrying the emir’s daughter. Maybe if he return in glory? Or he could just kidnap her and shoot anybody who tries to stop him.

Origin: The Red Vultures are a tribe living near Selkelas. Finding the real sword, scimitar, or falchion of Selkelas would be cool.

Recent Events: Defeated by the ninja dog king at the St. Vardishal monastery he acquired a fear of small and tiny dog-like creatures. Witnessed the cruel disemboweling and slow death of a human at the hands of the gnolls and learned to hate them. No mercy!

Gods: Current standing with the gods:

Nethishealing; cruel images; grave robbers0
Sarenraeprevented dying; repeated healing3
