Newgarden, originally named Suijin by the Federation survey vessel that catalogued it, was initially settled by an outcast religious sect known as the New Holy Order of Sacrificial Lambs, who aimed to create their own Garden of Eden in God’s image. The cult has grown over the centuries into a tyrannical planetwide Holy Empire of more than 8 billion people.

As planets go, it’s actually a pretty good choice to build a paradise. Somewhat smaller than Old Earth at 9600km, it has a dense but perfectly breathable atmosphere, a temperate climate and an abundance of surface water.

Fortunately, the lack of technological development keeps Newgarden from spreading their doctrine as aggressively as Anhur, but you’re bound to run into missionaries.
