I get the feeling that perhaps increasing the writing and drawing award from 5% to 10% might be more appropriate. The 10% reward is working well in my AlterKing:HomePage game.

I agree! 10% I’ll get level 4 with 10%!

W00t, not even a full session playing level 3!? We can’t allow that, surely.

While we’re on house rules…
can we look at the “Multi-classing No first level +2 bonus to saves. No XP penalty for multi-classing. (No more multi-classing into five classes or more in order to get awesome saves. No getting extra screwed for playing an elven druid who switched to cleric. Loosing highest spell levels is the only real penalty.)” rule again?
This works out as a net penalty for most classes. For example, Bolas at level 4 will go to Master Specialist prestige class. If he instead stays Wizard, he gets +1 BAB, +0 Fort +0 Ref, Will +1. If he multiclasses normally, its +0 BAB (puts you 1 place behind where you would be normally), +0 Fort (2 places behind), +0 Ref (2 places behind), +2 Will (1 place ahead). With the house rule, it’s +0 BAB, +0 Fort, +0 Ref, +1 Will.
You only get the really silly benefits if you multiclass, a lot, into classes with 2 (or 3) strong saves, and full BAB progression.
I would give up the +1 BAB, and knock back his Ref and Fort saves, in exchange for the +2 Will save, but to take a penalty on all Saves and BAB to multiclass really is a BIG penalty.

If you multiclass into a class with the same saves (which one is good, which one is bad) and same BAB, I would strongly favor the “use the existing track” rule. That beeing said I just wanted to nitpick that I calculated the numbers and I see no problems with the wizard/specialist saves: if you are wizard-9 you get (3/3/6). If you are wizard-3/masterspecialist-6 you get (3/3/7) if Alex’s houserule IS applied. Wizard-10 would be (3/3/7) and wizard-3/masterspecialist-7 would be (3/3/7) if houserule is applied. So basically you “loose” 1 BAB every second level but sometimes you get a better Will save. Agree? I’d prefer the houserule in that case.

hmm… looks like your right… I am unable to fault your maths… must try harder! I should have looked closer…
whatever the group agrees is fine by me then
