The surface of Turgeman is basically uninhabitable—the corrosive atmosphere makes a long stay difficult, and the relatively high gravity is unpleasant for humans. Instead, the human inhabitants live in bubble cities like those of Venus, high in the atmosphere, above the sulfuric acid clouds. The cities themselves are barely deserving of the name, with only a few thousand people each—in fact, most of them have coalesced around scientific bases sent from other worlds to study Turgeman. For despite the harsh conditions, Turgeman does have native life, of a sort—just not the kind that would interest anyone but a dedicated researcher.
