Whenever a player attempts a crucial action or an action that has the potential for failure, they will roll a ten-sided die. Examples of these types of actions would be hitting the bull’s-eye of a dartboard, breaking open a locked door, hotwiring a car, or climbing a tree to escape a horde of zombies.

If the number the player rolls is equal to or below the Target Number, they succeed at the task. The Target Number is never higher than 9, as there is always the potential for failure. Rolling a 10 always results in a failure, while rolling a 1 always results in a success.
