House rules and rulings

Initiative is rolled for each side by rolling a d6. Side with higher initiative acts first. On a tie, actions of both sides are executed simultaneously. Individual initiative modifiers (dexterity modifiers) can bump players to act before or after opposing side. Initiative is rerolled after each round of combat.

Example: Players roll 4 on the initiative roll. Enemies roll 5 on initiative roll. John has initiative modifier of +2. John gets to act before the enemies. Everyone else acts after the enemies.

Consecrated aura

Clerics and Paladins can sense when certain area or object is consecrated. Manifests as feeling of serenity when matching alignment and feeling of unease when differing alignment. Not all religious areas and objects are officially consecrated but shrines, temples, cemeteries and important holy relics usually are. Consecrating an area or an object generally requires clerical expertise, weeks/months of time and thousands gold coins worth of incense, oils and other rare material components.
